We are pleased to share that, together with 3XN + GXN, we have been selected to develop Kvarter A in Gothenburg. The project will establish a vibrant new central neighborhood, transforming a busy transport interchange into an inviting urban destination and strengthening the connection between the central station and the surrounding city fabric.
Our site-specific approach to the urban design and landscape is based on a thorough analysis of the area’s complex flows and spatial conditions. Guided by the principle of the "city at eye level," the project integrates movement and public life into a coherent urban structure. By working across scales, from wider city connections down to the detailing of the public realm, our ambition is to create clear pedestrian routes, active ground floors, and generous public spaces where people choose to stay and meet.
“Kvarter A will play an important role in linking the station to the rest of the city. It marks the beginning of a new, vibrant district with a mix of offices, hotel, services and experiences,” says Caroline Ahrnens Martin, Regional Manager at Jernhusen.
Out of 45 international teams, our joint team was one of three selected to develop proposals in parallel. The jury chose our design based on its architectural quality, function, sustainability, and strong vision for urban life. We are now entering the next phase to further develop the proposal in close collaboration with Jernhusen and the City of Gothenburg.
