The bridge provides a new pedestrian and bicycle connection between the nature reserve Tånga Hed and the school area in Vårgårda.
The bridge also has the potential to become an architectural landmark and together with a careful restoration of Kylling Maders nature park, the area can be a tourist destination at the level of an established Naturum.
As the key element in the nature park the bridge design communicates lower speed and presents several viewpoints for longer stays with a variety of nature experiences. One example is the circular viewing platform which will be an attractive destination point in Vårgårda. Stairs lead down to a wooden path system that extends over the wetlands and leads on to wooden piers, a sauna, and a bird tower. Information points along the bridge path are integrated which guide visitors to many destinations and activities.
The design is a result of a tight cooperation between MARELD, Erik Andersson Architects and ELU.
