Vinst i Tallinn

MARELD and Nüüd Arhitektid have won the public space design competition for the Skoone Bastion (Skåne Bastion) area in Tallinn, Estonia. The site is located in central Tallinn, adjacent to a 17th-century bastion. The competition challenged participants to create a high-quality, cohesive green area that integrates multiple sports functions while also respecting the site’s historical context and heritage.

According to the jury, the winning proposal, “Skoone taskud,” (Skåne Pockets) successfully balances the complex requirements of the brief by creating an environment that offers both active and calm areas. The jury emphasised that no single element dominates the overall concept; instead, the result reads as a unified park rather than a collection of separate sports facilities.

The new park will open entirely new opportunities in the heart of Tallinn for both residents and visitors, offering a diverse environment for sports, movement, and leisure. It will be especially valuable for nearby city-centre schools, which will gain access to a contemporary green outdoor space for physical education and outdoor activities.
