Healing a broken smal scale cultural heritage

MARELD won the competition organized by Lidköping municipality. The task was to design the four red houses on the Esplanade and surrounding landscape. Mareld together with LINK Arkitektur and Antiquum, has developed the proposal "Life at Krukmakaregatan".

The proposal is intended to heal the currently broken cultural environment on the site by reconnecting to previous residential structures and creating a neighborhood that regains its green, small-scale character. The external materials consist of simple, solid materials such as paving stones, cobblestones and stone flour. The neighborhood should be experienced as a green oasis in the city with flamboyant cultural plants behind the wooden planks.
