Öxeryd Preschool

Client: The municipality of Lerum

MARELD have designed the outdoor environment for Öxeryd’s new preschool in Lerum municipality. Taking advantage of and being inspired by the surrounding pastoral landscape, as well as building with sustainable non-toxic materials, has been an important part of the design work. The preschool building’s characteristic architecture and wooden facade are reflected in the outdoor environment with most constructions and play equipment in unpainted wood.

The preschool is fully accessible and inspires play for both older and smaller children. Water in various forms occurs in several parts of the yard. Most of the furniture and constructions, such as pergolas and storehouses, have been designed especially for the project, adapted to the conditions of the site and to fit in well with the house’s architecture.
