We have developed a plan to renovate and develop Tengene Cemetery, with the goal of connecting the older and newer sections into a harmonious whole. By reviewing everything from entrances and lighting to accessibility and material choices, we have created a space that is both welcoming and easy for all visitors to navigate.
In the new section of the cemetery, we allowed existing oval shapes to inspire the design of both the memorial garden and the new ash burial ground. By creating soft, oval spaces and plantings with high biodiversity, we have shaped a peaceful environment for rest. Visitors are also met by a tranquil water feature and new lighting that enhances the atmosphere.

As a unique detail of the project, we also designed a custom-made vase and candle holder. This was developed in close collaboration with Smedja Theres, where traditional craftsmanship meets modern design to give the cemetery a personal and cohesive character.
